Inner wealth: week 45 - self-control

Writer's picture: Renée CoolRenée Cool

Dive into the realm of self-control and embark on a journey of inner mastery. Self-control empowers you to make conscious choices and manage impulses. Cultivate mindfulness, harness your emotions, and navigate life’s challenges with grace. Let this journey mark the beginning of a life lived with self-awareness and restraint.

Repeat these 3 affirmations frequently this week:

I exercise self-control in my thoughts, words, and actions.

• I am in control of my decisions and reactions.

• My self-control allows me to make constructive choices.

Exercise: Self-control

Objective: To foster self-control, using a symbolic 'pause button' action to check impulsive behaviours, and affirmations to guide thoughtful responses.

Natural support: Hematite helps with self-control and letting go of impulses. Lotus symbolizes self-control and inner peace.

Setup: Designate a small object (e.g., a coin or stone) as your "pause button." Keep it accessible throughout the day.

Daily Control Check: Whenever faced with a decision or reaction, hold the "pause button," taking a moment to assess the situation.

Speak affirmations aloud: Connect with your inner being by putting one hand over your heart and one hand over your belly. Take a few deep breaths and feel how you say:

"I exercise self-control in my thoughts, words, and actions."

• "I am in control of my decisions and reactions."

• "My self-control allows me to make constructive choices."

Reflect: Consider the outcomes of your decisions and reactions. Praise yourself for moments of self-control and contemplate improvements for lapses.

Visualization: Envision a protective barrier, filtering impulsive actions and allowing only thoughtful decisions through.

Closure: Store the "pause button" in a designated space, ready to guide you again tomorrow.
